I’ve worked with several companies especially starting up my business for virtual assistance.

Through this, I’ve learned how best to select a company, engage with one and create structure that is helpful.

Additionally, I’ve spent over a decade as a healthcare executive managing multi-million budgets and overseeing over 80 staff so I know what to look for in a candidate you are working with even for a remote position like a virtual assistant.

Here are some learning lessons to apply when selecting one:

1) Culture Fit: Are they a fit for your business? Do they reflect your business vision? Can they problem solve? When they speak on the phone is in consistent with your message?

2) How are they going to bring in more revenue to your business to help the bottom line? It isn’t about making your life easier only.

They need to help grow your business; this is important because ultimately this will help to cover your cost, ideally much more than the cost. With any expense, you always want to look at the ROI.

3) Create a system and a structure. Spend at least 2-3 hours training them. Create a FAQ list and sheet to help support their onboarding process.
